New book by Dr Steve Chinn, AchieveAbility member
In January 2010 AchieveAbility Steering Group member and Dyscalculia expert Dr Steve Chinn is pubishing a new book titled “Addressing the Unproductive Classroom Behaviours of Students with Special Needs”. Published by Jessica Kingsley all the royalties are being donated to the Majika Project, a small school in Hazeyview, Mpumalanga, South Africa.
The book uses European research on those low level unproductive classroom behaviours such as distracting other pupils. There are different profiles of behaviours for different special needs. The second part of the book overviews some key theories around communication and self concept, theories that might provide a deeper understanding of classroom problems.
